What is the production process of PET preforms?

What is the shape of the bottle embryo? What is the production process like?

Molding of bottle embryos

The preform is generally formed by a warm runner mold. It is best to have a heat insulation board between the mold and the injection molding machine template, and its thickness is about 12mm, and the heat insulation board must be able to withstand high pressure. The exhaust must be sufficient to avoid local overheating or cracking, but the depth of the exhaust port should generally not exceed 0.03mm, otherwise it is easy to produce flash.

Production process of bottle embryos

The quality of the bottle depends on the quality of the supplied preform. There are two types of preforms during injection molding, one is a long plastic mouth and the other is a short plastic mouth. Domestic preform manufacturers use more preforms with short rubber mouths, while foreign manufacturers use more long plastic mouths. The preform with long plastic mouth is cut off due to the plastic mouth at the bottom, and the tension is evenly distributed during the blowing process, so that the quality of the blown bottle will be better, and other cut parts can be recycled, which is conducive to saving material costs , In today's increasingly scarce petroleum resources, domestic manufacturers will be more inclined to preforms with long plastic mouths. The control of preform quality during the production process depends on how well the preforms are prevented from being scratched during transportation.

How long after the PET preform is injected can the PET hot filling bottle be blown?

The injection molded preform should be placed for 24 hours to 48 hours to release and ease the injection and cooling of the preform, as well as the stress of stripping.

The bottle embryo should be kept in a constant temperature and humidity environment, and it should be used up within one month. Otherwise, preform deformation and oxidation will occur.

Resulting in stretching, there is a risk of bursting when blow molding.

The most important thing is that the blown product, especially the bottle with gas, such as Coke, will increase the air leakage rate, and the drop test is more likely to present the risk of dripping.

28MM PCO1810 PET Preform

PCO preforms are commonly used in beverage bottles, including carbonated soft drinks and juices. Two common variants of PCO preforms are the PCO 1810 and 1881, which each have a slightly different neck finish and a 28mm diameter.
The mouth height of the 28mm PCO1810 PET preform used to make plastic bottles is the standard 21.1mm. And the threaded part is a broken tooth design. We specialize in the production of 100% new raw material PET preforms. In addition to the standard color preforms, customers can also customize the color of the preforms according to their own preferences and needs. 28mm pet performS range in size, shape, neck finish, and weight, and the final volume of the finished product will determine its final weight.

The weight of the preform depends on the volume of the bottle you want to blow. For 300ml to 500ml bottles we provide 16g-20g PET preforms for blowing, for 700ml to 1 liter bottles we provide 20g-28g PET preforms for blowing, and for 1.2 and 2 liters Bottles we provide 30g-40g PET preforms for blowing. We will help customers make a suitable choice according to the bottle type and requirements provided by customers. In addition, we also offer various styles of plastic caps to match the preform models.
