Raw material selection for plastic preforms:
1. Polyethylene
The English abbreviation of polyethylene is "PE". The crystallinity of high-pressure polyethylene is relatively low, so the density is small and the texture is relatively soft. Compared with low-pressure polyethylene, it has higher transparency and excellent impact resistance and low temperature resistance. But it is not heat resistant. Low pressure polyethylene is more permeable than high pressure polyethylene, but less impact resistant than high pressure polyethylene. Both polyethylenes are susceptible to stress cracking.
2. Polyamide
The English abbreviation of polyamide is "PA". There are many classifications of polyamide, the chemical structure should also be different due to the different synthesis, and the performance will also be somewhat different, but their commonalities and performances are also similar.
Polyamide has relatively high crystallinity, high mechanical strength, good toughness and fatigue resistance, and the plastic preform made of it is relatively easy to color and shape, and can be used for a long time at room temperature. However, its heat distortion temperature is low, its hygroscopicity is relatively large, and its dimensional stability is relatively poor.
3. POM
POM is a highly crystalline substance, abbreviated as "POM". POM is a very elastic material with strong chemical stability, impact resistance and creep resistance, and POM's rigidity, High strength and wear resistance, it is a commonly used plastic preform material. However, polyoxymethylene has a high shrinkage rate, high technical requirements for size control, and relatively low corrosion resistance.
